Talking Teaching 2018: Engaging Teaching, Inspiring Learning
On behalf of the Ako Aotearoa Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence the Executive Committee would like to thank you for your attendance and participation at Talking Teaching 2018 - Engaging Teaching, Inspiring Learning held at the University of Canterbury. It is our wish that you were suitably inspired and engaged, returned home with new tricks in your teaching and learning toolkit, made new friends and consolidated existing friendships.
The second instalment of Talking Teaching, under the umbrella of the 10th Symposium hosted by the Ako Academy, attracted a diverse range of leading teachers, academic developers, and educational leaders from around New Zealand and across Australia. It was a pleasure to witness this growing community (download the registrant list here) and has filled us with motivation for 2019. Watch this space for an announcement in the new year on the dates and location for the third instalment of Talking Teaching!
To all of our presenters, we extend sincere thanks for your contribution. The richly varied and interesting PROGRAMME was a tribute to your passion and commitment. Our appreciation and thanks go out to our strategic partner Ako Aotearoa and host the University of Canterbury - without your support, the conference would not be possible.
We would also like to make special mention of our sponsor the Australian Learning & Teaching Fellows - I'm sure my New Zealand colleagues agree with me when I say that the Australian input enriched our conference - we hope they too felt enriched.
Recordings were made of many of the presentations given in the lecture theatres. It is our aim to make these available to you as soon as possible via the Ako Aotearoa Academy website. We will make an announcement once they are published online. In the meantime please share your photos or videos from the two days on the Academy Facebook page. This is a public group - we'd love you to join to stay up to date with Academy news, events and workshops.
The programme, handbook and full schedule of abstracts are all available to download from the programme page.
HealthCarePlus were an exhibiting sponsor at Talking Teaching 2018. HealthCarePlus is a union-owned co-operative and not for profit incorporated society that provides everyday health cover for you and your family. You can contact them on healthcareplus.org.nz.
