Academy Services
On joining the Academy, members are encouraged to share their skills, knowledge and teaching expertise with colleagues they work alongside and the wider tertiary teaching community of New Zealand. Academy members can help New Zealand's tertiary education sector in many differing ways, so please contact us to discuss your institute's teaching requirements. Some of the ways Academy members foster, promote and support teaching excellence are listed below.

1. Facilitate Workshops
Academy members facilitate workshops on excellent teaching pedagogy and strategies. Many of these workshops form part of the Ako Aotearoa Professional Development Programme.

2. Mentor Colleagues
Academy members mentor colleagues to reflect on and refine their teaching practice.

3. Teaching Policy

4. Teaching Portfolios
Academy members support colleagues develop teaching portfolios for awards.

5. Regional Seminars
Academy members share their teaching practice, strategies and tips through regional seminars, at times organised in conjunction with Ako Aotearoa’s Regional Hub network.

6. Collaborate with Others
Academy members continually advocate excellent practice to varying stakeholders.
