Talking Teaching 2017 - a conference on tertiary teaching practice and research
Hosted by the Academy, Talking Teaching 2017 - A conference on tertiary teaching practice and research was a two day conference on tertiary teaching practices that took place on 27 & 28 November at the historic St Margaret's College, University of Otago, Dunedin. The conference was part of a bumper week of conversations taking place in Dunedin, such as the Academy-only symposium and the assessing learning conference.
Talking Teaching - A conference on tertiary teaching practice and research attracted people from across the tertiary sector and drew a diverse range of teachers and researchers from around New Zealand. The presentations and conversations throughout lead to a stimulating exchange of ideas between the 160 participants. The vision for the conference held by the Executive and organising committee was that the combined practice and research focus would not only invigorate participants in terms of their current activities, but would also open new pathways and collaborations for teaching practice and research. The post-conference evaluation suggests the desired outcome was achieved for most.
Presentations, both audio and video recorded, will be available here soon.
In the meantime you are welcome to review the final programme and conference handbook with presentation abstracts.
The organising committee and the Ako Aotearoa Academy of Tertiary Teaching Excellence would like to acknowledge the support of key partner and sponsor Ako Aotearoa without whom the conference would not have been possible. The committee would also like to thank the University of Otago and Otago Polytechnic for their support.
